and the winner is…

so i had a contest for the opening spot as a performer for Music Speaks this Saturday. this was one of the hardest things i’ve had to do recently—- choose the winner. i’ve watched every single entry, and have been touched by many. i truly can tell that music has touched every single one of your lives in such a positive way (even the magician who swallowed a balloon for his audition). 

one really difficult thing i had to deal with in this competition was that i had a lot of friends enter. seaside audio, jumoke, alex hardt, vincent b, zandi, ry, drew raber, warren, michelle… then there were the videos that had little messages to me in the beginning telling me how much they’ve been inspired by my music and how great they think Music Speaks is, and i appreciate that greatly. while a lot of them were great, there were some that were just above and beyond in musicality— and that’s why tonight has been really tough for me!

so this leads me to the winner of the contest… but that doesn’t mean they’re the ONLY winner here… i’ve also chosen two “runner-ups” to have the opportunity to collab with me for a YouTube video, and hopefully be able to do a live stream show to showcase their talent and give them the opportunity to reach out to the audience they deserve sometime very soon. 

there were a lot of singer/songwriters in this contest, and two of them stuck out a lot to me. their names are Brittnie Price and RJ Ticzon. if you guys are reading this, i’d like to ask you to collaborate with me for a video! maybe even both of you together! it would be a great honor. your music spoke to me, and i’d like to thank you for that.

the winner of the opening spot for Music Speaks 2012… to share the stage with Tori Kelly, Cameron Mitchell, Mathai, Gardiner Sisters, Richard Tranley, Dante Basco, and MORE is… 

Albert Chang and Kevin Chung!!! Music TRULY does SPEAK, and these two proved that words aren’t even needed a lot of the time. Music transcends through generations, and watching this video reminded me how much music is a part of growing up. plus, they’re entertaining as heck. CLICK HERE to watch their video! a HUGE thank you to everyone who submitted. it really took me a long time because of course i kept thinking to myself “i’d hate it if anyone was mad at me” etc etc… but i hope you guys know that i watched all your videos multiple times— even with friends to simply enjoy. your entries inspired me, and i’m glad that MUSIC is a huge part of all your lives.
