Red Roses Formal 2012: BLOG I

it was a stressful day for me— but the night was so “magical”, yes MAGICAL, that i was actually having fun making sure everything was going ok. when i woke up that morning, i was a bit nervous. i was nervous because i didn’t know if things were going to run smoothly. boy, was i wrong.

ok there were a few bumps here and there, but luckily my right-hand man RB was helping me out on the other end. RB, Dusty, and Krissy are all my best friends and we’ve known each other since we were young. middle school memories. with RB i’ve known him since 3rd grade. i know how much i can trust these three. in fact, i know i can trust them with my life if i have to. but any who— they were there since the conception of this idea. a PROM. 

needless to say, i had my doubts. how could we throw a PROM?! my junior prom was fun, but most of the time spent there was making sure our senior class was having fun. senior prom came, and i made the conscious decision not to ask my girlfriend at the time to prom again because for me, i’m all about my friends. maybe i was a bad boyfriend at the time for not asking her, but i had fun with all my boys and best friends along with my younger sister, Jasmine, as well. i ended up getting PROM KING, along with my good friend from middle school Marie Mayer getting PROM QUEEN. i was on top of the world. well, at least my high school. 

i wasn’t a jock, didn’t play sports at all, i wasn’t a bully, i played piano for choir, and i was a band geek. but i played and wrote music, and everyone knew that. i had no enemies, and life was good. 

now to bring all that to Red Roses Formal was important. i didn’t want to make RRFormal a popularity gathering or anything… i wanted anyone and everyone who wanted recreate their PROM days to come. by talking to all my friends, i could gather that mostly everyone had a bad experience at prom. a lot didn’t go to prom at all. they didn’t have the opportunity to live it up. some of my friends were even robbed in the limo they took. now that’s pretty crazy.

i would finish the rest of this blog, but i’m gonna wait until Monday. Monday is when i officially release the VIDEO recap of RED ROSES FORMAL 2012: RED ROSES PROM. the video was edited and shot by the amazing Andrew Rose. he’s like Spider-Man but not. you’ll see how amazing this video is and be in pure awe.
