I felt so proud of Aj Rafael on ASAP.

I knew from the day I discovered him on YouTube, which was SO long ago, that he would make it far. His music is just amazing, and he has a great personality to match it. How could I forget meeting him back in 2009 (wow, talk about ages ago)? I couldn’t believe it. The moment was completely random, and I believe it was meant to be. We were leaving UO and he was just coming in. I had to stop my friend and tell her who I thought I saw. From there, it was  a mission. We had to approach him and tell him we loved his music. But it was like we couldn’t find him after. So we thought he left right away. NOPE, just as we were about to leave, again, I saw him. We had that eye contact, and I knew for sure.. it was thee AJ Rafael. I finally worked up the courage to say hi, and I’m so glad I did. He was so humble, and I love the fact that he actually talked to us. It wasn’t just a hi and bye thing. This might of happened a long time ago, but it’s one of those memories you will remember so vividly. AJ got me addicted to YouTube. He got me addicted to good music. He inspires me. While watching him on ASAP, I was just so happy for him. My mom and I watched as I kept talking about how amazing he is. Yes, my mom is hooked on him just as much as I am. I remember before all the HD videos and fancy stuff, it was just AJ, a cam, and his music. I love AJ. I loved him then, and I’ll love him forever. So if ever I see him again, I’d thank him for his talents and remind him how much people appreciate him. I don’t just like AJ because he is Filipino, it’s more than pride. What he does is not only for Filipinos or Asians in general, but for everyone who can appreciate talent and a good heart. He definitely does make me proud to be Filipino, but I love him for many other reasons besides that. So, good job AJ! I’m proud of the person you are, and just know that I’ll be a fan forever. 

P.S - You give the best hugs EVER, and your smile is contagious. <3 I hope we meet again. 

ahh you are amazing! the whole part about “i dont just like AJ because he is Filipino” gave me the chills because sometimes i feel like a lot of Filipinos do only like me cuz i’m Filipino., and i get caught up in trying to show them that i am more than just a representative of their race but a representative of music in general. thank you for your kind words!
